Laser Hair Removal
If you have been waxing the same area of your body for a while, you may be a good candidate for our permanent hair reduction services. The main advantage of permanent hair reduction is that the need for retreatment is eliminated or greatly reduced. In the past, permanent hair reduction was accomplished via the painful process of electrolysis - where an electrical current was inserted into each hair follicle. It worked, but required many treatments and was considered by most people to be much too painful.
Laser Hair Removal is a permanent hair reduction technology like electrolysis - but it works by using high frequency light to destroy hairs within the follicle. This greatly reduces the pain associated with permanent hair reduction - as well as reduces the number of treatments necessary to achieve satisfactory results.
After a series of five treatments (five treatments are necessary to destroy hair at all cycles of its growth phase), these laser treatments result in permanent results.

What to Expect
The length of an individual treatment may last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the area being treated. The number of treatments required depends on several factors related to specific kinds of hair and skin. It is important to understand that hairs in an active growth phase (anagen) are most affected by treatments. Since all hairs are not in this phase at the same time, several treatments are necessary to achieve the best results. Nurse Practitioners design customized treatment programs, and give clients an estimate of how many sessions may be needed in order to meet expectations.
The treatment may cause some minor discomfort — clients often describe it as a slight tingling or compare it to a pinch or the sting of a snapped rubber band. The appearance of the treated area immediately following a session will vary from client to client, though side effects are rare. Any swelling or redness at the treatment site typically goes away within a couple hours, and most people are able to return to normal activity immediately.
